All horses are handcrafted in the traditional wood laminated block method. Clear finished horses are crafted from native recycled hardwoods, plywoods and pine. Recycled timber often has imperfections, which adds to the charm. Modern epoxy glues are used for durability. The horses are carved and sanded to an extremely high quality of finish prior to the application of a durable two-pack paint finish. Wayne prefers to use synthetic wig quality hair for mane and tail so children may brush, plait and braid without damage. Natural horse hair may also be used although an appropriate colour is not always available. All tack is leather, with brass (or chrome plated brass) rings, bit and stirrups. And glass taxidermists eyes. All horses are individually numbered by stamp and carry makers plaque.  Size 5&6 horses may carry a adult rider.
